Panattoni Construction Begins Work on New Mt. Rose Slide Side Lodge
- Panattoni Construction to build new ski lodge at resort popular with locals-
(Reno, NV) - Panattoni Construction, Inc. has begun work on a $2.7 million contract with Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe to build a new ski area lodge located at 21333 Mt. Rose Highway on the Slide Side of the popular resort. Construction of the new lodge will be completed December 2009 in time for peak ski season and before the primary onset of winter weather.
“This is a challenging project because of the aggressive schedule and remote location,” said Matt Clafton, senior vice president and regional manager for Panattoni Construction. “The previous Slide Side lodge has been a gathering place to locals for years and we are pleased to be a part of introducing the new building to the resort.”
The new 7,937 square foot lodge will be constructed on the site of the previous Slide Side lodge, which was demolished May 2009. The lodge will feature two glass curtain wall systems- one on the west side of the structure with views of the Slide Side ski runs and the other on the south side of the building overlooking the valley below.
Construction of the new lodge will include site work, concrete, structural steel framing, rough and finish carpentry, waterproofing, insulation, roofing and sheet metal, plumbing, and installation of mechanical and electrical systems.
